Benefit to support March of Dimes

Girls’ Night Out at CAN DO Fitness in Short Hills Thursday not only provided fun with martinis, beauty makeovers and raffles, it also benefited the March of Dimes.

“We chose this charity because of everything that they offer to women and children,” said Maggie Stevens, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at CAN DO.“ We felt it was critical that the money they raise goes to important research and programs that help babies begin healthy lives.”

In the past years, CAN DO has been able to raise over $250,000 for other charities and hope to significantly add to that amount this year.

“We’re very close of reaching our goal,” said Stevens.

After paying $30 to $40 to get in, guests were invited to select martinis ranging from appletinis and cosmos to red and white wine, although a few close to stick with water of milkshakes. Salad, pizza and wraps were among the food selections.

Attendees called the event fun and rewarding. “I’ve been a member here since they first opened, but this is the first time that I’ve actually come to an event. I’m so happy I did,” said one South Orange resident.

“We’ve been so overwhelmed at the amount of support given to us by CAN DO,” said Kitara Garner, Community Director at March of Dimes. “I’m so thankful that we’ve all come together to help save babies’ lives.”

Stuart Polevoy, Chairman and CEO of CAN DO, generously developed a Give Back Program to any company that helped support the March of Dimes. For every member who joined in the month for March, Polevoy donated $10 per month for the first year of membership per new member to the March of Dimes. “So far we have 40 new members who have joined,” said Stevens.
In Addition to the festivities, CAN DO organized a fashion show. The attire was provided by CAN DO Active Wear Pro Shop, Jacqueline of Livingston and Jia of Millburn. All the models were either CAN DO members or the daughters and sons of members.

“We’re so proud how our community gets behind the charities that we support. We couldn’t have it done it without them,” said Stevens.
